14) A SIGN!!
ALLAH granted the request of Zakaria ‘alayhis salaam and placed a sign for him.
ALLAH said to him-
" Your sign is that you will not (be able to) speak to the people for 3 days except by gesture. And remember your Rabb much and exalt (Him with praises) in the evening and the morning." (3:41)
Zakaria ‘alayhis salaam came out of his Mihraab and as ALLAH told him, he was not able to speak.
After this confirmation, he was so happy that he started telling about the good news in signs/ actions to people around him and he also told people in signs/action to glorify the praises of ALLAH.
Qur'aan mentions-
"Then he came out to his people from Al-Mihrab, he told them by signs to glorify ALLAH'S praises in the morning and in the evening." (19:11)
Then later on, as ALLAH promised, the wife of Zakaria ‘alayhis salaam delivered a son, who was named Yahya.
[ALLAH ne Zakaria ‘alayhis salaam ki darkhwast qubool kari aur unke liye ek nishani muqarrar ki.
ALLAH ne unse kaha ke aapki nishaani ye hai ke aap logo se 3 din tak baat nahi kar payenge siwaye ishaaro ke.
Aur yaad karte rahyega apne Rabb ko uski hamd aur sanah ke sath subah aur shaam.
Zakaria ‘alayhis salaam Mihraab ke bahar aaye aur jaisa ke ALLAH ne bataya tha, wo baat nahi kar paa rahe the.
Ye tasdiq hone ke baad, wo phoole nahi sama rahe the aur apne aas paas ke logo ko isharatan ye khush-khabri bata rahe the aur sath sath unhe bhi ALLAH ki hamd o sanah ki talqeen kar rahe the.
Phir baadme jaisa ke ALLAH ne unse waada kiya tha, unke yaha Yahya ‘alayhis salaam paida hue.]
