AN OATH!
After hearing the news of death, Prophet ﷺ gathered all the companions around a TREE and took an OATH from them that now we shall move forward and would never turn back, even if it meant giving up our lives.
Prophet ﷺ extended his hand and the companions placed their hands over his.
Then, Prophet ﷺ placed his other hand over all the others and said that this represented Uthman’s (رضي الله عنه) hand, for if he had been present, he would surely have taken part in this oath.
This oath is popularly known as as
BAIT -E-RIDHWAN because by seeing the passion and sincerity of Sahabas, ALLAH got pleased (Raazi) with them.
(And Bait means oath)
It has been mentioned in Qur’an:
"Surely, ALLAH was well pleased with the believers when they were swearing an oath to you under the Tree..."(48:18)
[ Qatl ki khabar sunne ke baad, Nabi ﷺ ne apne sab sathiyo ko ek DARAKHT ke paas bulaaya aur un sabse AHED/WAADA liya ke ab hum aage badhenge aur kabhi bhi peeche nahi hatenge yaha tak ke humari jaan hi kyu na chali jaaye.
Nabi ﷺ ne apna hath aage badhaya aur phir sab Sahabao ne apne- apne hath unke hath ke upar rakhe.
Uske baad, Nabi ﷺ ne apna doosra hath un sabke upar rakha aur kaha ke ye haath Uthman (رضي الله عنه) ka haath hai kyuki agar wo yaha mojood hote tou wo bhi yahi ahed karte.
Is mashhoor ahed ko
BAIT E RIDHWAN kaha jaata hai kyuki Sahabao ki sacchai aur unka jazba dekh kar ALLAH unse raazi ho gaye the.
(Aur bait ka mayna ahed hota hai).
Iska zikr Qur'aan mei bhi aata hai ke-
"Yaqeenan, raazi ho gaya ALLAH un momino se jab wo ahed kar rahe the ek darakht ke neeche.." (48:18)]
