By ALLAH'S will and mercy, Lut ‘alayhis salaam and his family (except his wife) safely left the city of Sodom & entered a place of security and safety.
ALLAH mentions in Qur'aan-
"To Lut, we gave judgment and knowledge and We saved him from the city that was committing wicked deeds..
And we admitted him into Our mercy. Indeed, he was of the righteous."
(21:74-75)
According to narrations, this was not just the city of Sodom but some nearby towns also that were involved in same practice and they were punished along with it.
Jibrail ‘alayhis salaam lifted up all the sinful towns together with its people and turned them upside down.
And this is the reason why Qur'aan mentions these cities as-
"AL-MU’TAFIKAT" (9:70) which means 'Overturned cities or cities who were turned upside down.'
[ALLAH ke hukum aur uski rehmat se, Lut ‘alayhis salaam aur unke gharwale (siwaye unki biwi ke) pur- aman tarike se Saddum ke sheher se bahar nikal gaye aur waha se ek aman aur hifazat wali jagah jaake bas gaye.
ALLAH Qur'aan mei farmate hai ke-
"Lut ko Hum ne quwwate faisla aur ilm diya aur humne unhe us sheher se bacha liya jiske rehne wale bure amal kiya karte the..
Aur Hum ne unhe apni rehmato ke saaye mei dakhil kar diya. Beshak, wo ek nek bande the."
Rivayato ke mutabiq, ye sirf Saddum ka ilaqa hi nahi tha balke uske aas paas ke kuch aur ilaqe bhi the jisme ye amal hota tha aur phir ALLAH ka azaab un sab bastiyo mei ek saath aa gaya tha.
Jibrail ‘alayhis salaam ne in bastiyo ko unke rehne walo ke sath upar uthake ulat-pulat kar diya tha aur yahi waja hai ke in ilaqo ko Qur'aan me-
"AL-MU’TAFIKAT" kaha jata hai jiska mayna hai "ulat-pulat bastiya ya wo bastiya jinhe ulat pulat kardiya gaya tha."]
