UMAR'S ( رضي الله عنه) CONVERSION STRENGTHENS ISLAM!!
So far Muslims had always prayed in secret. To pray in open was a risk.
But Umar رضي الله عنه felt that now it was the time for Muslims to practice their faith in open in front of their enemies.
He gave this suggestion to Prophet ﷺ one day which he accepted.
From that time onwards, it was decided that 2 rows of Muslims would be made, ONE ROW HEADED BY HAMZAH رضي الله عنه and the OTHER ONE HEADED BY UMAR رضي الله عنه to follow the Prophet going for prayer in Kabah.
From that day onwards, Umar رضي الله عنه came to be known as FAROOQ (the one who distinguishes truth from falsehood).
That is why, he is commonly known as UMAR FAROOQ.
[Ab tak Musalmaan chup chupke namaaze padh rahe the. Khuli jagah par namaaz padhna ek bade khatre ki baat thi.
Lekin Umar رضي الله عنه ko ye laga ke ab wo waqt aa chuka hai ke Musalmaan apne deen par khule taur par amal kare.
Unhone ye mashwara Nabi ﷺ ko diya jo unhone qubool kiya.
Tab se ye tay kiya gaya ke Musalmaano ke 2 groh banenge, ek ko Hamzah رضي الله عنه lead karenge aur ek ko Umar رضي الله عنه aur phir sab Nabi ke piche piche namaaz padhne Kabah jaya karenge.
Usi waqt se hi, Umar رضي الله عنه ko FAROOQ kaha jaane lag gaya (wo jo haq aur batil/jhoot mei farq karne wala hota hai).
Isiliye, aam taur pe unhe UMAR FAROOQ kaha jaata hai.]
