ASTONISHED TO HEAR THE VERSES OF QUR'AAN!!
Prophet ﷺ listened everything very carefully.
Then he said: "Is that all you have to say?"
Utbah replied: Yes.
The Prophet said- "Now listen to me."
Then Prophet recited the opening verses of Surah Fussilat/ Ha Meem Sajdah-
" Haa- Meem! (This Qura'an is) A revelation from ALLAH, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. A book with verses that are explained in detail.
A Qura'an in Arabic for people who understand. Giving glad tidings and warning, yet most of them turn away, and they do not hear. (41:1-4)
He continued to recite and then came to a verse that said:
"And if they turn away, then say: I have warned you of a torment (punishment) like the torment that struck Aad and Thamood" (41:13)
Astonished as well as frightened, Utbah put his hand on Muhammad’s ﷺ mouth and pleaded him not to bring about such a terrible punishment.
He left and came to his people.
He told them that he had heard such a thing that he had never heard before which is surely not poetry nor anything related to magic.
He then gave an advice to the people to leave Muhammad ﷺ alone.
The people said that:
Utbah, you have also been bewitched (affected) by Muhammad’s (ﷺ) words.
Utbah said: This is my opinion. Now you do whatever you want.
[Nabi ﷺ ne Utbah ki sab baate ghaur se suni.
Phir kaha ke- "Bas itna hi kehna tha?"
Utbah ne kaha- "Ji"
Nabi ﷺ ne kaha- "Ab meri baat suno".
Nabi ne iske baad Surah Fussilat/ Haa- Meem Sajdah ki shuru ki ayate tilawat karni shuru kari-
"Haa Meem! (Ye Qur'aan) ALLAH ki taraf se nazil hua hai jo Ar- Rahmaan, Ar-Raheem hai.
(Ye) Ek kitaab hai jiski ayate khol kholke bayaan kardi gayi hai Arabi zabaan mei taake log samajh jaye.
(Jannat ki) khush khabri dene wala aur (Jahannam se) aagah karne wala (ye kalaam hai) lekin aksariyat log nahi sunte.
Nabi tilawat karte rahe yaha tak ke wo is ayat par pohche-
"Aur agar wo jhutlaate hai to keh dijiye ke maine tumhe us azaab ke baare mei aagah kar diya tha jaisa azaab qaume Aad aur Thamood par nazil hua tha". (41:13)
Hairaan pareshaan, Utbah ne apna hath Muhammad ﷺ ke muh par rakh liya aur iltija (request) karne laga ke aisa khatarnaak azaab na nazil karvaye.
Wo phir waha se chala gaya aur apne logo mei aaya.
Waha aake usne kaha ke maine aisa kalaam suna hai jo maine pehle kabhi nahi suna tha jo yaqeenan na Shayri hai aur na hi Jaadugaro ki baate.
Phir Utbah ne logo ko ek mashwara diya aur kaha ke Muhammad ﷺ ko uske haal par chod do.
Log kehne lage ke Ae Utbah! Tujh par bhi Muhammad ﷺ ne jaadu kar diya!
Utbah ne kaha- Ye mera mashwara hai, baqi tum logo ko jo sahi lage wo karlo.]
