WOMEN IN PRE-ISLAMIC ERA!!
Before Prophet Muhammad ﷺ came, the condition of women in Arab countries was terrible.
• The birth of girl child was considered evil.
There were many cases in which people buried their female children alive because of shame or fear of poverty. (16:58-59)
• If marriage proposals came for girls or women, they had no right to question or give their suggestion. The decision was wholly taken by their guardians.
• There were many kinds of marriages such as marriage by agreement, temporary marriage, marriage by capture, etc
This ruined the lives of women and they had no security.
• The number of wives a man could have was LIMITLESS. By this, the dominance of males was increasing day by day.
Men could also marry real sisters at the same time.
• The act of divorce was also solely in the hands of the males and women had no rights for separation.
• The divorced women and the widowed women were not allowed to re-marry.
• Women did not have property rights nor they were given any share in inheritance.
[Nabi ﷺ ke aane se pehle Arab mei aurto ka haal bohot bura tha.
•Ladki ka paida hona MANHOOS AUR BURA samjha jata.
Waha aisa bohot hota tha ke paida hui ladkiyo ko zinda dafna diya karte the sharam ki wajah se ya bhookmari ke darr se.
• Agar ladkiyo ka rishta aata to uske bade usse bina pooche faisla kar diya karte the aur use itna bhi haq nahi tha ke wo kuch keh sake ya mashwara de sake.
• Us waqt mei kayi tarike ke nikah kare jate jaisa ke WAQTI NIKAH, JABRAN NIKAH, KHAREED KAR NIKAH, MUWAHIDA E NIKAH (contract ke zarye) wagera wagera jisme aurto ki zindagi tabah ho jati aur koi hifazat na hoti.
• Ek mard jitni bhi shadiya kar leta aur uspar koi rok nahi thi. Isse, mardo ka muashre mei (society mei) dabdaba din bhar din badhta chala ja raha tha.
Mard ek waqt par 2 sagi behno se bhi nikah kar leta.
• TALAQ dene ka IKHTYAR bhi sirf mardo ka tha aur aurte apni marzi se Khula bhi nahi le sakti thi.
• Talaaq shuda aurto aur bewa aurto ko haq nahi tha ke wo dubaara se shadi kar le.
• Aurto ka maal aur jayedaad mei koi qanooni haq bhi nahi tha.]
