THE ANNUAL FAIR!!
There was a place between Makkah and Madinah known as UKAAZ, where a great annual fair used to be held during the month of Dhul- Qa'dah which is one of the sacred month in which war and bloodshed is forbidden.
In this fair, poetry competitions were held, people used to participate in horse riding, wrestling matches etc
Alcohol was also served in it.
All the tribes used to attend this annual fair and were frequently involved in fighting with each other, showing their power & strength (even in the sacred month).
At one of the fairs, a serious war broke out between QURAISH tribe and QAIS AILAN tribe.
[Makkah aur Madinah ke darmyaan ek jagah thi jiska naam UKAAZ tha jaha har saal ek bada MELA lagta tha.
Ye mela Dhul Qa'dah ke mahine mei lagta tha jo hurmat wala mahina hai yaani jismei jung aur khoon bahana haraam hai.
Is mele mei, logo ke beech shero shaiyriyo ka, ghud-sawaariyo ka, pehelwano ki kushtiyo ka muqabla hota aur ismei Sharaab bhi pee jaati thi.
Saare qabile is mele mei shirkat karte aur waqtan- fawaqtan apni taqat dikhane ke liye doosre qabilo ke sath ladte jhagadte rehte (halaanke is mahine mei jung karna mana tha).
Aisa hi ek mele mei hua, jab 2 qabilo ke darmyaan ek bohot badi jung ho uthi.
Un 2 qabilo mei se ek QURAISH ka qabila tha aur doosra QAIS AILAN ka qabila tha.]
